Mr Jerry Lai

Mr Jerry Lai is an experienced English educator with over 13 years of teaching experience. He currently serves as an Adjunct Lecturer at HKU SPACE and an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Hong Kong, where he teaches academic English to undergraduate students. His expertise extends to General English and Business English at HKU SPACE, alongside courses in Effective Writing Skills 1 and 2. Mr Lai holds an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Hong Kong and an MA in Japanese Studies from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He also earned a BS in International Business with a minor in French from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, United States. His diverse academic background enriches his dynamic teaching, approach. Mr. Lai’s teaching philosophy centres on learning English through an effective, practical approach, emphasizing engagement and application. His multilingual background and global perspective inspire students to develop linguistic and critical thinking skills. Mr. Lai continues to empower learners across disciplines, helping them excel in English with confidence and clarity.
