The School offers a series of academic programmes to meet the ever-growing manpower needs and increasing professionalism of the hospitality, tourism and events sectors since 2002. Our practical teaching approach and comprehensive industry-based content provide students with a unique opportunity to prepare for the challenges and opportunities ahead. Multi-layered pathways, various study duration and specialism enable individuals to enrol in suitable programmes on the basis of their prior academic background, interests and industry experience.
Hospitality & Lifestyle Programmes
The programme is designed for enthusiastic beginners who are interested to discover and learn about the fine watchmaking industry. It requires no specific background knowledge of the industry. Students will be introduced to the fine watchmaking industry, the stories behind fine watches along with the technical particularities and craftsmanship skills surrounding their creation.

This programme aims to enable students to identify the role and responsibilities of tourist guides and apply basic knowledge and skills to manage inbound tour groups, provide customer service, minimise potential risks, and handle crises. The programme also equips students with effective presentation skills for introducing attractions to tourists as well as the necessary knowledge of legal requirements and service standards. Upon completion, students should be capable of passing the licensing examination for tourist guides and meeting the requirements for applying for a tourist guide license issued by the Travel Industry Authority.

Over the last decade, events have emerged as significant tools for community and regional development, tourism promotion and corporate marketing. The steady growth in the number and size of events in Hong Kong has created a significant demand for professional event managers. At the same time, the increasing complexity and government regulation of festivals and events have given rise to an industry body of knowledge, and to the need for personnel trained and skilled in the practice of international festival & event management.

This Honour degree part-time programme, leading to the Bachelor of Arts (with Honours) in International Festival & Event Management, is offered by HKU SPACE in collaboration with the Edinburgh Napier University. It is designed to equip students how to plan, design, market, operate and develop events, as well as how these events can be used to help local economies and communities.
It is a fully-accredited undergraduate degree in the United Kingdom. On completion of the studies, graduates will be awarded the Bachelor of Arts (with Honours) in International Festival & Event Management, which is identical to the one awarded to the students in the Edinburgh Napier University in the United Kingdom.

This programme is designed to provide a sound introduction to coffee and coffee brewing for those who are interested in deepening their coffee knowledge.
