Self-financed higher education in Hong Kong is an important means of providing quality continuing and professional education opportunities for learners, both part-time for working adults and full-time for school leavers. In addition to local awards, the availability of Transnational Education (TNE) programmes has been an important factor in this provision.

HKU SPACE has a history of over 65 years and is one of the major providers of selffinanced higher education at various levels in Hong Kong and TNE opportunities expanded rapidly from the 1990s. HKU SPACE led the way in collaboration with overseas partners. As an institution that aspires to provide the highest quality of provision, HKU SPACE therefore invites local and international teachers, researchers, educational policy makers and professionals from academia and industry to share their experience at this international conference.

One of the aims is to connect overseas and local standards in benchmarking good quality programmes and sharing co-practice.
