How to Earn Stackable Awards with Microcredentials

The Microcredential courses are characterised under a theme as Professional Practice or General Studies. The rule is that to qualify for a stackable award in Professional Practice, 75% of the Microcredentials should be in that category. That is, for a Certificate in Professional Practice (30 credits), 24 or more credits have to be in that category. For a Diploma it is 45 of 60 credits.

Two Examples are shown below:

1) Certificate/Diploma in Professional PracticeMicrocredentials digital badges
2) Certificate/Diploma in General Studies Microcredentials digital badges

In addition, Certificates and Diplomas are at indicative Qualifications Framework (QF) levels, 75% of credits are required at a particular level to qualify for the award at that level.

Students should initiate applications for a stackable Certificate or Diploma award once they have met the thresholds.

Students also have a choice, where Microcredentials are part of a "parent" programme, then they may be stackable towards that parent award instead. However, such Microcredentials credits can only be stackable in one or other pathway, not both.
