Hong Kong’s economy has been growing speedily since the 1960s. Transforming first from a manufacturing town into the financial and services hub it is today. As the economy changed and family businesses turned into entrepreneurism, and then into today’s international corporations, the need for professional management and corporate governance became more important. The DEMS spotted the need and launched a Management Studies programme and the first Diploma in Management Studies in Hong Kong.  Courses such as these, not only opened up new opportunities for Hong Kong people, but contributed significantly to the growth and prosperity of Hong Kong.
