Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) Preparation Courses (University of London)

The University of London LL.B. programme has a long history dated back to 1890s, and is world regarded.  Its high reputation is maintained because students are marked to the same high standard as the campus based students.  The degree provides solid academic foundation for the professional stage in Hong Kong, England and Wales and many other common law jurisdictions.  The University of London LL.B. has been offered in Hong Kong for more than 55 years and is literally the first formal legal education in Hong Kong.  Since its introduction, HKU SPACE has been offering highly effective preparation courses taught mostly by experienced and leading academics and teachers from major UK law schools.  Our students consistently perform well in the exams over the years and in the past seven years we have produced nine First Class graduates.  Many of the LL.B. graduates who studied with SPACE have joined the Hong Kong legal profession as solicitors or barristers, and some have become judges.  There are also graduates who succeeded in getting admitted to legal practice in England and Wales, Canada, New York and other jurisdictions, based on the University of London LL.B.   For others who choose to work in another field, they have found the degree valuable in enhancing legal knowledge and professional standing.
