香港特區政府推出的十大建設計劃及創新科技產業發展,促進了工程項目的發展,市場對工程人才需求若渴。為配合社會發展,除基層工程人員須具備相當的專門技能外,工程專業人才亦須具備不同的專門知識,以及擁有與時並進的管理技能。因此,本學院開辦了不同程度的工程學課程,藉此讓學員吸收最新工程知識、技能,從而靈活運用於工作中,提升競爭力。

Graduates will be well-prepared to contribute to the efficient operation and maintenance of healthcare facilities, ensuring optimal patient care and safety.
Intended Learning Outcomes
On completion of the programme, students should be able to:
- Develop and establish a knowledge base in hospital engineering;
- Apply engineering practices to effectively, operate, maintain and repair healthcare facilities, ensuring their optimal functionality and safety;
- Apply knowledge acquired to analyse problems in healthcare facilities;
- Discuss and apply safety protocols, infection control, and regulatory compliance specific to hospital environments;
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless facility operations.
This programme aims to enhance students’ comprehension of fundamental concepts, principles, and theories in computer & information security, which has been spurred by the pervasive use of computer-based applications such as information systems, databases, and computer programming. Students are also given an understanding of computer system and architecture, access control mechanisms, cryptography algorithms, software security, physical security, security management and risk management as well as computer forensics.

Hence, it is of paramount importance that these biomedical equipment are properly maintained and serviced so as to provide accurate and reliable data and information for clinical diagnoses and treatments.
