Lecture + Workshop:

Qualities of architectural students and common personality traits of architects. Academic Path in Architecture - Information on studying architecture in Hong Kong and overseas universities. A workshop to introduce students basic architectural drawing skills.

Lecture + Sharing:

Introduction on how to become a registered architect in Hong Kong and the different career path. Life of an Architect. Guests will be invited to share their experience in attending architectural school.

Design Studio:

Introduction and exploration of basic architectural design principles, drawing and modeling skills. Describe methodology of solving architectural problem from site analysis, formulation of concept idea into build form. Students will be designing a small building project.

Design Studio:
Students will present and review initial ideas, analysis of site constrains and potential, functional requirements, how to develop ideas into build form. Further design development to be carried out during studio class.

Computer 3d modeling + VR Cave experience:

Introduction and exploration of basic 3d computer modeling by using Sketchup. Student will be taught to build a simple 3d object with different concept ideas. Then have a short virtual tour by using VR cave to showcase how does technology interact and change the design industry.

Architecture Firm Visit:

Architecture Firm Visit: Students will visit a local architecture firm to see what the work environment is like and a sharing by the firm’s architect.

Design Studio Presentation:
Students will present their design projects in graphic form, using drawing, models, etc and verbally present their project to classmates and invited guests.
